The Holidays Aren’t Always Jolly – And That’s Ok!
With all the parties, decorations, and cheerful music, not to mention everyone posting on social media about how happy and thankful they are for all the great things going on in their lives, the holidays can be a tough time for some people. It’s also a very stressful time for many of us, especially parents who are trying to give their kids the best holiday season possible.
Some of us really love this time of year, others just get through it, and others struggle. It’s fine to feel lonely, depressed or anxious during the holidays. You’re not the only one – 3 in 5 Americans experience mental health conditions related to the holiday season or winter, and about 10-20% of people who have a depressive disorder experience exacerbated symptoms during the winter.
Are you struggling this holiday season? The following video goes over some things you can do to help you cope and make it through the holidays.
