What Is the Children’s Crisis Stabilization Unit?

The Children’s Crisis Stabilization Unit is a safe environment where children and teens up to age 17 can stabilize during a mental health crisis. This short-term program helps to avoid a hospitalization and gets your child better and back home to you as soon as possible.

Our BRIDGES campus in Windsor, Virginia provides youth with a beautiful and soothing place to get better.

Children’s Crisis Stabilization Keeps Your Child Out of a Psychiatric Hospital – And at Home With You

We strive to provide evidence-based, holistic approaches to the treatment and care of the community members we serve, and our youth are no less important.

On the BRIDGES campus, your child will have access to a whole team of professionals ready and eager to help, including:

  • A psychiatrist
  • A registered nurse
  • Licensed and licensed-eligible mental health professionals
  • Human services professionals

The services and care provided through this program are designed to keep youth out of psychiatric hospitals and at home with their families. You, your child and your whole family will also learn how to take what you learn home with you and develop a plan that will help keep your family strong, intact and mentally healthy.

BRIDGES is a short-term crisis avoidance program. We may recommend continued care for your child and/or family’s unique situation.
